So nice to meet you, Laura! Ginger shared your Etsy store with me, you make beautiful things! I hope you don’t mind, I have a post here linking up to a tutu tutorial, but I thought I might add a link to your shop in case someone would rather buy one of yours. They’re gorgeous!
Please let me know how you like the soaps! I’m thrilled with the laundry soap but may switch back to regular dishwasher detergent. (I’m still playing with the recipe a bit, hoping it will work out.) I bought some more Dr. Bronner’s soaps in different scents and (thanks to a friend’s suggestion) want to make some more laundry detergent for our local food pantry.
hi Sarah! Yes! I love your quilt! I hope you don’t mind that I’m re-creating it here in Galway. It just made me so very happy! I can’t wait to see your next granny :)
I loved yours, Cindy! I don’t mind that you wanted to make one of your own at all. The colors and patterns are so happy, it will be a great quilt for you! My next granny quilt is a present for my brother and his wife. I’m working on a graduation quilt for their daughter now, and I’m using the scraps for their granny quilt. My niece can take her quilt off to college in the fall and while they miss her at home, they can cuddle under their coordinating quilt and feel one more connection. That’s the hope, anyway! (BTW, I love your colorful new shop and have added your blog to my feed reader. Can’t wait to see what you make next!)
I’m Kathryn, and I’m the editor of FaveQuilts.com. You may be familiar with some of our sister sites, FaveCrafts and AllFreeSewing. I’m contacting you because I would love to feature some of your quilting tutorials on FaveQuilts.com! Here is an example of how projects are featured on FaveQuilts:
Each review includes a short description of the project, a byline that credits you, a link to the tutorial on your blog, and a photo of the finished project. We also feature links to projects and accompanying pictures in our free weekly e-mail newsletter. Please let us know if we have permission to feature your projects and photos on FaveQuilts.com and in newsletters. I look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you so much for the opportunity! Please feel free to share tutorials, and please let me know if I need to do anything to help you. When I visited your site, I immediately saw a tutorial I’ve used myself and will likely use again, Lightning Zigzags by Jen of All Trades. ( http://seejennmakestuff.blogspot.com/2011/08/lightning-zigzags-tutorial.html ) I’m honored that you think any of my work might be worthy of inclusion. Thanks again!
so you make/sell the memory bears? If so, how much and the turn around! A lot of people who make and sell them offer stiff looking bears that are not snuggable! I have wanted to make a bear for myself and sister, lost our dad May of 2000.
Hi Amanda, no, I’m sorry, I don’t make and sell memory bears. These were bears made for friends. This pattern is out of print but I’ve posted a few alternatives in the comments if you sew or know someone who does who can make them for you. You can also search on Etsy for people who sew to order.
WHERE COULD I FIND THE PATTERN FOR THE BEARS PLEASE. HOW DO YOU POST PICTURES OF THINGS WE MAKE? I HAVE TRIED CUT AND PASTE AND NO LUCK. THANKS. DO YOU HAVE ANOTHER SITE?
Hi Gail, I’m sorry, but the bear pattern I used is out of print. It was given to me by the friend who asked me to make them. If you look in the comments on that post, I added a link to some other bear patterns, or just Google or look on Pinterest to find one you like. I’m not sure what you mean about posting pictures of things you make? If you’ve made something I’ve posted about, you can add a link in the comments to your own blog or photos on Flickr or so on. This is just a little blog of things I’ve made, just sharing ideas.
My sister Ginger Wilcox thought I would like your blog/etsy site. I love the recipe for homemade soaps. I am going to have to try it!!
