So, after leaving our Greyhound puppy unsupervised in the house for the first time, we had a sudden pillow vacancy.
Oh, the horror! (I was so relieved when I realized it was just a pillow, and not actual furniture.)
This weekend I filled our vacancy with this scrappy little tree pillow. Want to make one?
Start with three pieces of fabric for the pillow. I used a 12″x16″ pillow form, so I cut my pieces 13″x17″, 13″x13″ and 13″x9″ to make a simple envelope sham.
Cut random triangle shapes out of assorted greens for the trees and little bits of brown ribbon for the trunks. Heat and Bond ironed to the back will fuse them to your pillow front, but add a stitched border to each tree if you like. (Add colorful little buttons if you want Christmas trees.)
Turn under a 1/4″ or 1/2″ of the 13 inch side of each of the pillow back pieces, then press and sew a finished edge. Put the front of your pillow right side up with your pillow back pieces on top facing down. Pin all around the border and sew a 1/2″ seam. Clip the corners, turn right side out and you have a cute little pillow!
Super cute Sarah! I love that you gave directions because how cute is this?! You are quite crafty :o)
Thanks, Julie! I may go back and add some tutorial photos, it’s really easy but photos always help. (I need to make another one after my sister in law saw this one anyway!)
